1 Billion Rising: Eve Ensler, Activists Worldwide Plan Event End Violence Against Women
Amidst a U.S. election campaign that has seen the issue of women’s rights at the forefront, the playwright and activist Eve Ensler is launching a global strike to end violence against women. "One Billion Rising" calls on women "and the men who love them" to join together on Feb. 14, 2013, and "dance until the violence stops." Ensler is the award-winning playwright and creator of "The Vagina Monologues," and her latest play, "Emotional Creature," opens in New York City in November.

Why is there no massive outcry against violence, particularly domestic violence, directed at ANY gender. An abused man suffers just as much as a woman. He also faces the fact that he is regarded as invisible by most "experts" on domestic abuse and that there are no resources available to him--no counselors, no shelters, no safe houses.
Many domestic abuse organizations routinely turn abused men away, thus perpetuating what they claim to oppose.
