President Bashar Assad and Kofi Annan would discuss peace efforts soon with rebel leaders.  Annan, who drafted the primary international plan to end Syria's 16-month-old crisis, arrived in Iran late Monday for talks with leaders there.  With the violence in Syria growing worse with chaos and diplomatic efforts faltering, Annan says Iran is a Syrian ally, and it should be part of the solution.
