Blatant Corruption Exposed as EU Blocks France’s Ban on Monsanto’s GMO Maize

“It appears the reason for the unprecedented move to maintain Monsanto’s deeply-rooted foothold in France has to do with the fact that the United States and other nations are continually pushing Monsanto’s agenda — even going as far as to threaten military-styled trade wars to those who oppose the company.”

Just after France legislators and officials moved to ban Monsanto’s genetically modified strain of GMO maize over environmental and health concerns, the European Union has decided to step in and re-secure Monsanto’s presence in the country — against the very will of the nation itself. This should come as no surprise when considering the fact that the United States ambassador to France, a business partner to George W. Bush, stated back in 2007 that nations who did not accept Monsanto’s GMO crops will be ‘penalized’. In fact, ambassador Craig Stapleton went as far as to say that the nations should be threatened with military-styled trade wars.

That’s right, it appears the reason for the unprecedented move to maintain Monsanto’s deeply-rooted foothold in France has to do with the fact that the United States and other nations are continually pushing Monsanto’s agenda — even going as far as to threaten military-styled trade wars to those who oppose the company. Monsanto has major connections with political heads that have actually threatened trade wars against nations opposed to GMOs on record. As I reported back in January, WikiLeaks cables surfaced revealing startling information concerning Monsanto’s deep involvement with back-end politics.

One of the most telling details involves a statement made by Craig Stapleton, in which he said:

“Country team Paris recommends that we calibrate a target retaliation list that causes some pain across the EU since this is a collective responsibility, but that also focuses in part on the worst culprits. The list should be measured rather than vicious and must be sustainable over the long term, since we should not expect an early victory. Moving to retaliation will make clear that the current path has real costs to EU interests and could help strengthen European pro-biotech voices.”

And that is not even the most shocking part. WikiLeaks cables go on to state that United States diplomats actually work directly for Monsanto, furthering the agenda of the company across the globe. Is it any wonder that France is being assaulted by the EU over its decision to secure the health of its citizens?

It becomes even more obvious when examining the ridiculous reasoning as to why the EU had to step in and block France’s in-house legislation. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) rejected the ban on the grounds that “there is no scientific evidence” that shows “risk to human and animal health or the environment.” Of course there is an overwhelming amount of research showing that Monsanto’s creations do in fact threaten not only human health, but the planet as a whole. Even the EPA has warned over the fact that Monsanto’s GMO crops are spawning ‘mutant’ resistant insects and subsequently requiring substantially more pesticides.

Consumers are waking up to Monsanto’s agenda and the dangers associated with their modified creations. Over 45,000 comments were submitted on the USDA website in opposition to Monsanto’s new genetically modified strain, and only 23 in favor. The corruption of Monsanto is now out in the open, and only serves to show how deeply rooted the company is within the United States government. Is it any coincidence that a major head of the FDA was a leading employee of Monsanto?

This story really puts the "Evil" to my term, "The Evil Entertainment Empire". @moreaboutthat... The police departments are probably being beefed up for the killer epidemic that insiders are probably going to release pretty soon. The powers that be, and the television interests behind them, don't NEED a huge population to be as they want to be, do you really think that the President and select entertainment-news moguls are ignorant of the fact that the world's large population is killing the environment (and thereby, soon, us all)? The real struggle for survival is about to begin for most people, a losing battle to survive a specifically designed genetically modified disease organism that will end the human population threat to 'life on planet Earth'. Meanwhile, you radical leftists are still chasing the money tree, get with it, there are several main political forces in America and the world who go at it for survival and political power, not just a few lousy bucks! Forget the lobbyists, watch the developing battle between the Entertainment Empire (has the power) and the U.S. government (wants that power!). Reading this article is like bending over the dark, fathomless pit of evil that Hollywood-Burbank really is as they fully back GMOs and every other hideously evil thing! Slide over to NPR tonight and tune in on the White House "teaming up with" ABC on the issue of banning junk food commercials aimed at young children, then you can tune up to the real power struggle in this country! Question is, "Is your trusted TV channel planning to wipe the slate clean just to survive?"

If corporations are people, and it is legal to assassinate anyone (with no trial) who threatens the interests of the US (Drone strikes), is it legal to do the same to those who are threatening life itself?

Not advocating anything here, just asking the question.

You have a very good point. Police departments around the country are receiving heavy armament—way beyond normal community law enforcement needs. They are preparing for "something." I am wondering who they plan on protecting. My guess is that it won't be the unfortunate "potential terrorists," namely us. They will be "protecting" the rapidly developing Plutocracy... Wall Street, Medicine, Banking, Insurance, Agribusiness, Prisons and the Arms Makers.

It appears the good folks at Monsanto are out to kill us all. It makes no sense, but there it is. Ironic that a link to another article on this page is about :
A Last (Chemical) Gasp for Bees?
“The studies, conducted in the United States, France, and the United Kingdom, all pointed to neonicotinoids, a class of chemicals used widely in U.S. corn production, as likely contributors to colony collapse disorder.”

No bees, no food, no humans.

Whoopsy.

See my book, Garden of Light, www-garden-of-light.com, for concise discussion and great research by May Wan Ho re. how GM organisms "do not know the dance of life," and how GM organisms are destroying the foundations of life by manipulating the gene code. And, if you haven't yet read it, check out "Seeds of Destruction," copyright 2007, by F. William Engdahl, on how the Rockefeller Foundation set out to control food supply, and implement GM agriculture, decades ago.

At a recent food sovereignty forum here in Canada. Our Agriculture critic from the official opposition explains how Monsanto and their Lobbyist Crop Life bought off the Conservatives and Liberals. Only the NDP and The Bloc voted for the people of Canada and Transparency.

The two old line parties are in bed with the Evil Witch from Sleeping Beauty. They never deserve another vote after this sell out. Ever.

Real Name: Doug Pederson AKA SpectateSwamp

Please someone view and comment on the above video. They know the name of the Evil Witch at Crop Life. Give us the NAME. Who are you really protecting by withholding this information... We know you know who it was.

In all of my limited reading since Citizens United was passed, I have not run across anyone stating the obvious, if corporations are "individuals" with the rights of a citizen then said corporation has the right to bear arms. This has been a troubling thought of mine particularly in light of the nasty bit of synergism known as Monsanto.

Why is our government that we the people elected representing Monsanto? When did Monsanto's business become a state matter? Why risk a trade war with the EU over Monsanto's business concerns. Are we at war in the middle east over some Oil giants business concern. Then they should bear the cost of such conflicts. If Monsanto wants this then they can pay for it. Our tax dollars being spent to support Monsanto's marketing of a product that people do not want? Now, who's the oppressor ?

Monsanto fits the classic text book definition of "psychopath." Unfortunately, they are also too big to fail in the minds of the governments that they influence with gobs of $$$.

Because, as it turns out, capitalism corrupts governments absolutely and may just be to be antithetical to Democracy.

I find Manfred Max-Neef's short elaboration of this to be awe inspiring.

I'm a peaceful man. But what these biotech bastards are doing to our Mother Earth and all Life that lives by her Grace does NOT make me feel peaceful at all! I'm beginning to believe that they've GM'd themselves with genes taken from reptiles or other creatures renowned for vicious behaviour and a total lack of compassion or conscience! Seriously, how else can people become so evil? Come to think of it, you could not find behaviour like this in the natural world so that leaves only one possibility: they must be aliens from the asshole of the universe that shat them out! And we're stuck with them until we deploy the biggest roll of toiletpaper ever seen! Yes, I'm trying to be funny here but my heart is breaking...

Monsanto and other behemoth corporations (multinationals) run governments, not the other way around. All systems are hijacked by the super rich, the board of directors and the corporate officers. The only thing they know is organized force. How people can organize to counter corporate money and force?

As Andrew Jackson once said of the legal system, specifically the Supreme Court, "They have made their decision. Now let them enforce it."

France has a potent military too. What are we going to do, land in Normandy?

It seems they are having no trouble endorsing it to me.

Trade sanctions can doo just as much damageas warfare, just takes longer. Look how effective they were in Iraq. 12 years of sanctions are said to have resulted in the deaths of 500,000 children.

Monsanto is the monster that is causing so many environmental and individual health problems, and the company knows it. Monsanto knows that its products are detrimental to the health of the entire planet and every living thing on the planet, but hey... anything in the name of profits.

Monsanto must be taken on by the public. The very least we can do is to DEMAND that all GMO foods be labeled as GMO foods, and this is something that Monsanto knows will have a dramatic effect on their profit margin, so they spend tens of millions a year fighting any state that brings up labels for GMO's, as well as tens of millions a year to politicians for supporting the Monsanto agenda.
Monsanto IS the most hated corporation in the entire world, and there most certainly must be a reason for this. The reason is: Monsanto is killing all of us slowly, but surely, and Monsanto is destroying the entire environment in numerous ways that will have a dramatic effect on the planet.

The first thing WE must do, is teach our own government a lesson - destroy the bastards that have been bought off by Monsanto and any other corporate hacks.
WE have to make ourselves heard - the media won't help us - they are owned by the politicos. WE must organize - join the Occupy Movement, make ourselves heard.

Monsanto has the United States government and its European Union allies strong-arming any country who rejects Monsanto's genetically-modified organisms an threatening them with military-style trade wars?!

Let the trade wars begin!
Globalization must die along with the corporate bootlickers behind it!
Freedom demands it!
Good nutrition also demands it!

So...What do we do next? You're not going to get a small farmer to stop using Roundup, which is wiping out the bee population. I know, I live in a farming area and the local farmers swear by it, even though many know its potential dangers to man, beast and the environment. They prefer to live in denial just to get through another year of backbreaking work. A trade war would be a great solution if we had a clue as to how to go about it. I use white vinegar to kill the weeds at my place. And if you talk to the owner or manager of a place like Lowe's or even a mom and pop hardware store, they would would lose a huge source of revenue of Monsanto products were pulled from the shelves and they liken any protests to hysterical tree huggers.
