“A grand total of 25 corporations have dropped ALEC membership, as well as four major non-profit organizations and 55 elected officials.”

Five more corporations have severed ties with the secretive right-wing American Legislative Exchange Council, known as ALEC. The group has come under increasing scrutiny in recent months as the public has become aware of its role in advancing the "Stand Your Ground" gun law initially cited to protect Trayvon Martin’s killer in Florida. The organization has pushed voter suppression bills, union-busting policies and other controversial legislation. The future of ALEC is now more precarious than ever before. A grand total of 25 corporations have dropped ALEC membership, as well as four major non-profit organizations and 55 elected officials. We’re joined by Lisa Graves, executive director of the Center for Media and Democracy, which created ALEC Exposed, a website showcasing more than 800 of the group’s model bills.

Exactly right, MIKESFILMS and BTRWY. When they are caught with their hands in the cookie jar, they just move to the honey pot. If we pay attention and think for ourselves instead of believing the biggest spender on the block, then big money doesn't matter. Why haven't people learned that by now?

It's not hard to figure out who the bad guys are. The worst usually spend the most. It gets a little tougher when the bad and the better spend roughly the same. Sometimes it makes sense to see which registered candidate spends the least. You may find that he/she is the least corrupt.

Unfortunately, the money contests have been played so long and have grown so much (even cash prizes on Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune have soared!) that most people have forgotten how comfortable life can be without commercial advertising and political propaganda. Once news broadcasts became entertainment, all reason jumped out the window.

ALEC has already been replace by a backup with a different name. Corruption this deep doesn't end so easily.
