“Heading up the American Crossroads super PAC and the affiliated non-profit Crossroads GPS, Rove has built up a war chest that has given Mitt Romney a significant cash advantage in the fundraising race with President Obama.”

In a new book, author Craig Unger examines the return of Karl Rove, the man who masterminded the rise of George W. Bush from governor of Texas to a two-term presidency, who advised Bush during two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and who was at the center of two of the biggest scandals of the Bush administration: the Valerie Plame Wilson affair and the U.S. attorneys scandal. While Rove was almost indicted for the Plame affair, he has reinvented himself to become the most powerful political operative in America. Heading up the American Crossroads super PAC and the affiliated non-profit Crossroads GPS, Rove has built up a war chest that has given Mitt Romney a significant cash advantage in the fundraising race with President Obama. In "Boss Rove: Inside Karl Rove's Secret Kingdom of Power," Unger writes that Rove's ambitions are not simply about winning elections, but represent "a far more grandiose vision — the forging of a historic realignment of America's political landscape, the transformation of America into effectively a one-party state."

What gags me is that with KR heading the game the repugnants call the Dems dirty. Nothing could be dirtier than the tricks that the repugnants have pulled in the last few elections, including dirty tricks in their own party.

It is amazing that so many of us can be duped by Leper Rove and his ilk. Rove should have gone down with the Plame affair. Many more should have gone down after Obama came in office but he refused to prosecute anyone. Many, many deserved it and I think it is one of Obama's biggest failings. By letting all the criminals go scott free or only a slap on the hand just opened the door for more. I'm hoping he gets re-elected but then he should be held accountable for his inaction. That alone has done great harm to America. Not to mention his reich wing appointees. If we ever get a really good president again he/she will need more than eight years to work out the mess we're in. If possible.

It's ironic that the G.O.P. has Rove as the Master of Dirty Tricks, what with their obsession with "traditional family values." By all appearances, this guy seems to me to be a closet bisexual. When are the Democrats going to "out" him and his buddy Lindsey Graham? We haven't had so much hypocrisy about "family values" since J. Edgar Hoover and Clyde Tolson were alive and kicking together up at the top of the FBI.
