Data Centers Produce Dirty Energy from Facebook, Google and Apple
Every time you save your photos, store emails or send videos using the iCloud, you are using energy that is needed to power those live servers. With worldwide demand rising at an incredible speed, so does the power and energy needed to control the servers which hold archives of information. Certain companies such as Facebook have done a great job by lowering their use of fossil fuel and investing in cleaner energy. On the other hand, many other large companies such as Apple still continue to use coal heavy power. Apple will soon be opening up one of the world’s largest data centers in North Carolina which will be powered by Duke Energy.
