NATO to Reduce Afghan Operations

NATO has claimed to scale back its operation with members of the Afghan National Security Forces in attempt to lower risk of insider attack. A total of 51 troops have been killed this year by Afghans in the nation’s police uniform. Until recently, NATO companies of around 100 soldiers routinely conducted operations like patrolling or manning an outpost with Afghan soldiers. NATO said such operations are no longer routine and require the approval of the regional commander.
