“The President of the United States believes he has the power to order people killed -- in total secrecy, without any due process, without transparency or oversight of any kind.”

The New York Times revealed this week that President Obama personally oversees a "secret kill list" containing the names and photos of individuals targeted for assassination in the U.S. drone war. According to the Times, Obama signs off on every targeted killing in Yemen and Somalia and the more complex or risky strikes in Pakistan. Individuals on the list include U.S. citizens, as well teenage girls as young as 17 years old. "The President of the United States believes he has the power to order people killed -- in total secrecy, without any due process, without transparency or oversight of any kind," says Glenn Greenwald, a constitutional law attorney and political and legal blogger for Salon.com. "I really do believe it's literally the most radical power that a government and president can seize, and yet the Obama administration has seized it and exercised it aggressively with little controversy."

Actions like this is what lends credence to the ugliest critiques of our policies coming from our sworn enemies, say the mullahs in Iran for instance or Khalid Sheik Mohammad. Are we determined to make these murderous mooks not just prescient but prophetic? What happened to the America that prosecuted the Nazis at Nuremberg? What happened to the America that is the guardian of the Geneva conventions, not in the theoretical sense, but the actual documents? What happened to the Obama that was to be the welcome return to sanity after 8 years of w. bush?

What you are asserting is that the US President acts like a mafia boss! Anyone claimed to be the alleged "enemy" by the corporate America is eliminated without due process? Is the world now ruled by the law of the jungle: the strongest kills the weaker at will? Why avoid capture and trial? What is hidden from the public that is so diligently pursued by the Executive to avoid coming under scrutiny? We are yet to hold an open public trial so know the story from the other side. Even Nazis had their say in the court of international justice. Human right violation? Constitutional violations? International law violations? Where are the attorneys association in all this? Where is Ramsey Clark?
