All religions have been hijacked by the 1% for their benefit at the expense of the 99%. If you doubt me, ask them how much was Christ, Moses, Mohammad, Buddha paid when they were teaching their wisdom? Then ask them how much is their preacher making and if their preach lifestyle is same as the majority of the congregation? Invariably you will find the "men of gods" are skinning their flocks. It is refreshing to see some compassion coming out at least one church.

Yes,lets have the true spirit of religion be in play here. There is a common theme in religious teachings-caring re and helping our fellow man, making efforts to understand the truth, not allowing attachments to material possessions, status and power to overtake us,belief in the value and worth of each person.
Usury is denounced by all of the major religions.
It seems that the prevailing view of Christianity has strayed very far from its roots.
We need religious people of conviction and true faith to affirm these principles.
The presence of ministers, rabbiis and priests has, so far, greatly enhanced the scene for OWS.I hope they will be even more visible, not only at tent sites but in various other related means of social activism, expanding the reach of OWS.
