The Original Koch Scorches The GOP, Praises OWS, And Wants to Jail The Banksters
Former NYC Mayor Ed Koch (some of us still lend the softer pronunciation of his name to the brothers Charles and David) has played hot and cold with progressive causes, and likes to flirt with Republicans about leading fervently pro-Israeli Jewish voters against Obama.
But here, on Al Sharpton’s show Monday night, Koch reverses field: He’s now going to campaign for Obama (for background on Koch, Israel, and the president, see Greg Sargent here), and he attacks Republicans for having lost all sense of justice, even patriotism. “They don’t care about the country,” he says. “They’ve given up on that, and that’s why I think the American public will give up on them.”
And perhaps most surprising, Koch “absolutely” supports Occupy Wall Street and wants the recession-creators sent to prison.
I think it is an outrage that no CEO, no CFO of any corporation, major corporation on Wall Street, or the banks, has been convicted and sent to jail for having engaged in criminality and bringing on the Great Recession. And some did, no question about that. A poor kid steals a bike, he goes to jail; a guy steals millions and he gets a civil fine, which is becoming the cost of doing business.… I’m distressed that the Attorney General has not been ordered by the president to pursue them.
How’s he doing?

Since the Republican position since Obama's election was to get him out of office, as stated by Mitch McConnell, Obama has tried to reason to get something done. The reason there's been no change is that the Democrats are not sheeple, and the Republicans are.

In a democracy 99 people are 99 times more powerful than 1 person. In a dictatorship 1 person is more powerful than 1,000,000 people. The top 1% of our country are our rich dictators. Job creators???? Hell no, rich dictators!!!

On Lawrence Neal's re-direct to G. Edward Griffin's opus:
From Wikipedia, with citations: "Starting as a child actor, he became a radio station manager before age 20. He then began a career of producing documentaries and books on often-debated topics like cancer, Noah's ark, and the Federal Reserve System, as well as on libertarian views of the Supreme Court of the United States, terrorism, subversion, and foreign policy. Since the 1970s, Griffin has promoted laetrile as a cancer treatment,[2] a view considered quackery by the medical community.[3][4] He has also promoted the Durupınar site as hosting the original Noah's ark, against skeptics as well as near-Ararat Creationists. He has opposed the Federal Reserve since the 1960s, saying it constitutes a banking cartel and an instrument of war and totalitarianism.[5]"
No thank, Lawrence. As soon as the "Infowars" logo popped up, I knew we had a LiberPublican Teabagger to listen to. He may have some points that are valid, but his conclusions have been dismissed over time. Good luck following that. I choose to dig OUT of this hole Griffin's ilk are directly responsible for.

Mayor Koch is on the money about politics being everything and the good of the country being a low priority, but unfortunately, that attitude has corrupted the Dems, too. Pres. Obama was elected with a large majority because he promised "change" but little has changed. Instead of acting like a man with a mandate, he behaved in his first two years like a wheeler-dealer Senator trying to build a personal powerbase, and he wasted the nation's trust and confidence. Still and all, another GOP corporate toady in the WH would make the recession so far seem like paradise, so let's give Mr. Obama a chance to redeem himself - he's a smart guy, but he gave the Repubs too much credit and hopefully by now has learned his lesson.

Someone please draw up a list of crimes committed by bankers, and name names. I'm sure that there was corruption, but I fear that the corruption was made legal by the bankers' wholly owned subsidiary in Washington.

How's Ed Koch doing? GREAT! How are the 99% doing! GREAT, in terms of articulating a Mission Statement. YES, 99 percenters, you DO speak for me.
