Rights of Occupy Protesters Violated

A report from human rights lawyers says New York police officers used excessive force which escalated tensions at occupy wallstreet. The report by the Global Justice Clinic cited numerous incidents in which police officers used excessive force without sufficent provocation. Constant police survelliance of occupy events violate legal restrictions on police monitoring of protests, known as the “Handschu Guidelines” after the landmark case that led to its creation, the report said. Requests for interviews with police and city offcials were either denied or recieved no response according to the report.
