In an interview on Sunday, Romney said he “absolutely” supports returning to taxpayer funded elections.  He went on to say, “To be competitive we are also following suit.”  He ended with “ but I would rather have a setting where we agreed upon federal spending limits” This was a very strange statement for Romney to make especially with his uneasy relationship with the Republican right.
