Romney Tells Millionaire Donors What He REALLY Thinks of Obama Voters

During a private fundraiser earlier this year at the Boca Raton home of Marc Leder, controversial private equity manager, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney told a small group of wealthy contributors what he really thinks about the American people. When asked about his views on the people who have voted for Obama he said “There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.” Romney went on: “[M]y job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”

(I seem to have lost my prior comment, so I'll try again.)
Romney's greatest handicap has been the public perception that he is the scion of a wealthy family, had a privileged youth, and can't possibly relate to the problems of ordinary Americans who must work for a salary.
And boy, didn't he blow it with these comments before a select group of supporters?
I believe the actual number of Americans who don't pay income taxes is around 46%. He seems to be saying that all of these people are dependent victims who get everything they need from the teat of Nanny Government.
Well, none of them have an income high enough to require payment of income taxes, for one thing. Would he like to trade places with them? Now, some may be on welfare, some may even get food stamps, since there's a lot of unemployed nowadays. Is he calling all these people "moochers?"
(Even Rush Limbaugh once drew Unemployment checks!)
I believe that 20% of that 46% are retired seniors, who live on Social Security and a pension or small savings or investments. Is he dissing seniors, when he obviously needs their votes? How would you feel to have paid into Social Security all your working life, and Medicare for the majority of it, and earned a small pension that, along with SS, will keep you from eating dog food or rummaging around in the dumpsters? You worked hard, did the right thing, and here's this guy who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, telling you you're a dependent victim who can't take care of yourself?
Even Kristol slammed Willard over these remarks. Mitt's background just keeps coming to the foreground, doesn't it? He can't seem to help it, he was born that way.
But what an idiot, huh? I do look forward to more of these arrogant elitist remarks from the man with the wayward foot (it keeps wandering to his mouth) in the days remaining to this campaign. Then, after we retire Mitt to his mansion, maybe we can begin the serious task of weaning the Dems from the corporate teat also.
Or starting a third party that actually has a chance to win elections. With a candidate of the same class as Bernie Sanders, for example.
