On Thursday, a group of lawmakers in Illinois passed a legislation to legalize gay marriage to the state Sentate. This bill will come up for vote as early as next week. With an 8-5 vote in a Democratic-controlled Senate, the majority of votes came from Democrats who supported the measure.
