The US Economy is Kind of Mediocre

A couple of years ago, the bloggers began to dig into new releases of economic data. When the GDP stats were released, you could find dozens of posts diving deep into the weeds, explaining why the numbers did or didn't really matter.  The defense spending was artificially up, inventory gains were wacky, and the timber industry had an unusually good quarter, etc. etc.
