U.S. will Resume Beef Import from Japan

Around April 2010, the discovery of infected Japanese cows with the foot-and-mouth virus which caused the suspension.  August 17th, the U.S. will resume the importation of Japanese Beef as it is acknowledged that (Japan) is clean from foot-and-mouth disease.  Japanese beef exports was a 1.08 billion yen industry in 2007.  Since the outbreak, exports fell to a mere 210 million yen in 2010.
