Tell the Senate to end the war in Yemen once and for all.

While Saudi Arabia continues its war against the Houthis, a Yemeni Shiite militia group originally formed around the historical economic and political marginalization of Yemen’s northwest, the death toll in Yemen continues to rise. Since 2015 there have been 50,000 direct casualties and 130,000 children who have died from malnutrition and preventable diseases, according to the Washington Post. The ongoing war has displaced millions and blocked food, medicine and many other needed supplies from entering Yemen putting the  country on the verge of famine.

But a political momentum in the United States could end the war for good. With much public outcry, if the U.S. ended its support to Saudi Arabia, Congress could end the devastating humanitarian crisis.

The House of Representatives just recently passed the War Powers resolution to end U.S. support for the Saudi-led war in Yemen and now it’s time to call on Senate to do the same.

Tell the Senate to end the war in Yemen once and for all. As a country, let’s stand for peace.

The is one war we should be against. We should push for new elections and get all sides to agree to their peoples' decision.

At Chrysler in 1970's many UAW union members were from Yemen...through a government worker program. My heart goes out to them, great people!
