November 6, 2018. The most important day of the year.
On this day, 33 Senate seats, 435 seats in the House of representatives, and 24 governorships will be up for grabs in the United States midterm elections.
The outcome of these elections have a dramatic effect on the governance of our nation, yet voter turnout for the midterm elections are notoriously low. If you want things to change for the better, you need to make a commitment today to get out on November 6, 2018 and vote in the people who will fight for the issues that matter most to you.
What’s at stake?
Five blue states could determine who controls the House in 2018. California, Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Virginia account for only a small percentage of Republican-held seats overall, but they are home to a disproportionate share of vulnerable Republicans. These five states are home to 38 percent of the vulnerable Republican-held seats in 2018.
If either house of Congress flips, the Republican legislative agenda – which has been detrimental to middle class Americans and the environment – would be dead.
Trump would be constrained on judges and other nominees, and new Democratic state majorities would be formed with new liberal legislation that benefits the people.
We can help remove politicians that don’t put the interest of Americans first. We can replace them with politicians that aren’t deep in the pockets of corporations.
Get out the vote!
The 2014 midterm election turnout was the lowest in 70 years. Only 36.4 percent of eligible voters turned out. 36.4 percent of Americans decided how our government would be run.
This is unacceptable.
Whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, what matters is that you get make the commitment, right now, to get out there on November 6 and vote.
Sign this pledge to promise to cast your vote in the midterm elections, then SHARE this pledge with your friends and family to remind them what is at stake.
