Arrested on drug and domestic violence charges, an Alabama police officer was recently placed on administrative leave following his arrest.

On Friday, Wetumpka Police Officer Jeffery Hall was arrested and charged with manufacturing a controlled substance and third-degree domestic violence—third-degree assault, according to Montgomery Police Lt. Raymond Carson. The drug charge is a felony and the domestic violence charge is a misdemeanor. Lt. Carson did not disclose what type of controlled substance Hall was charged with manufacturing.

Hall was taken into custody on Friday. Wetumpka Police Chief Greg Benton confirmed that Hall had been placed on administrative leave with pay after his arrest.

According to Chief Benton, Hall has been on the force about four years working as a detective. Hall had requested to be reassigned to patrol and was shifted to patrol on February 3.
