Last week Agriculture Chairman Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS), introduced new legislation that is once against being labeled the Denying Americans the Right to Know (DARK) Act.

The new bill is an attempt to preempt state GMO labeling laws by preventing states from requiring labeling of GMO foods. The bill would also stop pending state laws that require labeling from going into effect.
According to polls conducted by the Washington Post, New York Times, and Consumer Reports, 9 out of 10 Americans want genetically engineered foods to be labeled.
Despite the fact that an overwhelming majority of Americans want GMO foods labeling, and despite the fact that 64 other nations require GMO labeling, the Senate still insists on introducing legislation preventing it from happening.
