After repeatedly being asked how his progressive agenda and major plans will be paid for, Senator Bernie Sanders revealed a fact sheet explaining how plans like Medicare for All, The Green New Deal, canceling student debt, etc will be paid for.
His proposal comes after victory in the Nevada caucuses and just before 2020 Democratic presidential contenders took the debate stage in South Carolina.
His website lays out how we would pay for each of his “major plans” using programs like a financial-transactions tax, a wealth tax, changes to the estate tax, raising corporate taxes, raising taxes on high earners, and an employer tax that exempts low-income workers’ wages, according to Barron’s.
“You know, if you look at the media, they say Bernie’s ideas are radical, they’re extreme, they’re out of the mainstream. Let me just tell you, I don’t think that that’s true,” says Sanders on Monday.
