Witnessing the demise of the principles of ethics and morality in the America of today

What is happening to America and its people?

What in the world is happening to America, its government, and its society?

Remember that old saying, “Something is rotten in the state of Denmark?” Well, something is rotten in America as well. That famous saying refers to “dirty politics but it also can be applied to any type of corruption happening, whether in politics, at home, businesses, or even in love, meaning something very wrong is going on.”

Yes, something is very wrong in America as the principles of ethics and morality and honesty and integrity seem to have been relegated to the back burner, in our Congress, as well as within our society.

Think about this: how often have you heard anyone in the general media or, on any of the cable news channels, talk about these principles, their immense importance in all our lives, and why they have become almost meaningless in the America of today.

When we hear reports of some underhanded dealings or bending of laws, or outright lies coming from politicians or businessmen, do we hear this media speak out strongly, stressing the fact that what they are saying or doing is against the principles of ethics or moral behavior? Do we hear these principles ever discussed to any degree?

How about that most dishonest, unethical, immoral political party, the GOP, which has somehow been able to become more popular with far too many Americans who doggedly support it and Trump? How could that be? Well, these are Americans who, quite obviously, “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.”

“A new Washington Post-ABC News poll released on Sunday found that if the midterms were held today, registered voters would vote for Republican candidates for Congress over the Democrat candidates by a sizable 10-point margin, 51% to 41%”. The Washington Post referred to the findings as being “historically strong result for Republicans”., I call it a national catastrophe

Is this some kind of a joke that this political party has convinced 51% of the American electorate that it is an honest, honorable party of decency and integrity? If that’s so, then Republicans have pulled off one of the greatest magic tricks in this nation’s history.

Do the American people have their blinders and earplugs on or are they not even thinking? Don’t they see how the Republicans are hell-bent on creating more and more divisiveness in this country? And then taking down our democracy? Do they need a loud WAKEUP call?

Americans buy all kinds of weapons to protect themselves from other Americans. Everyone in this country has now become a target in a shooting gallery. This is pure madness. Only in America!

The cowards in Congress, those on both sides of the aisle, watch as Americans shoot their fellow Americans in record numbers, our kids go to school every day and they could easily be the victims of the next mass shooting. Does anyone care or is this now the norm?

Politicians see the kids being slaughtered and just look away, they are deathly afraid of getting on the wrong side of the NRA and the gun manufacturers, both of which fund their reelections; they are the worst kind of cowards. They are even afraid to look in their mirrors for what they will see.

Do we see or hear the American people venting their anger, their rage about these continuous murders of children? Are they yelling and screaming at the politicians who refuse to deal with these killings by passing laws that better control the purchase and use of these weapons of mass destruction? The silence is deafening.

How low can the Republicans go? All the way down to the bottom of the barrel full of cr-p. As America struggles mightily with the Covid pandemic, there are GOP House and Senate members, state governors, and various others who are encouraging Americans to be anti-vaxxers, to resist mandates, and even refuse to get their children vaccinated. What kind of humans are they?

Sad to say, a great many Americans are like lemmings or sheeple, and remain silent, submissive, and subservient. So, nothing changes, nothing is done, and the murders go on and on.

Rodney King was an African American man who, after being stopped by Los Angeles police in 1991, was viciously beaten. This incident, followed by the acquittal of the four officers who did it, sparked numerous riots.

LA remained in a state of extreme violence and on the third day of rioting, King emerged from seclusion and said, “People, I just want to say, can we all get along? Can we get along?”

The answer to that question back then was a resounding NO and if he were alive today and asked that same question of the people of this society the answer would be exactly the same – NO!

Hey, did you follow the Kyle Rittenhouse trial in which the little punk coward who had no business carrying an AR15 military weapon took it into an area in Kenosha, WI, where protests were going on – and then killed two men and wounded another? He went on trial, the jury deliberated for 4-1/2 days, and then found him not guilty on ALL COUNTS.

America’s judicial/court system has become a sham, a national disgrace. The Rittenhouse trial is a perfect example. The judge, by his poor behavior and decisions, should be disbarred. He had 20 jurors chosen in one day, he was clearly on the side of the defense, and he castigated the prosecutor several times for no good reason.

Now, that’s what we might call upside-down justice, all wrong, but it happens regularly here in America. Are the American people enraged, are they demanding change, do they even care? Or are they mind-conditioned to remain silent?

Republicans in Congress have one main objective and that is to block all legislation that Democrats propose, using the deadly filibuster rule. Sure the GOP senators did bend a bit and helped to pass Biden’s infrastructure bill, but only because they knew better than to try to block that critically important program that a large majority of Americans wanted.

How about this guy Trump, you know the one who lies, cheats, bends, and breaks laws time and again and never has to pay a price for his crimes? You would think his “40%” of supporters would have had enough of him and his misdeeds but they remain attached to him like glue.

Trump, the master tactician, is in effect, holding them hostage, holding them captive, and they do not, must not, question anything he says or does. Trump uses them like a hammer on anyone who dares to show any kind of disloyalty against him. They are no more than political puppets.

Talk about something terribly wrong in America? How about the Trump Evangelicals? A good definition of an Evangelical is “relating to, or being in agreement with the Christian gospel especially as it is presented in the four Gospels.” And these Evangelicals, with that in mind, are fierce supporters of this unethical, immoral, lying cheat? And they call themselves followers of the Bible?

Here is a list of those GOP nutcases who live on the dark side of America. The way they conduct themselves is totally against the principles of ethics and morality, honesty and integrity:

Rep. Paul Gosar

Rep. Lauren Boebert

Rep. Louie Gohmert

Sen. Mitch McConnell

Rep. Jim Jordan

Rep. Mo Brooks

Rep. Madison Cawthorn

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene

Donald J. Trump, the master breaker of laws, the most dangerous person who ever occupied (contaminated) the White House.

If any of these pitiful politicians had important jobs in the business world or some other line of work, and they acted in the manner that they are now doing in this Congress, they would be summarily fired.

GOP senators Romney, (the “holier than thou” senator), Collins, and Murkowski, the pretend “good guys” in their party, are nothing more than fakes, frauds. They talk the talk but won’t walk the walk.

The one word that best describes the Republican Party is HATRED! Its members are so full of hatred that they even hate each other and themselves.

The American people watch Republicans, lie, cheat, try to steal elections, condemn others who disagree with them, break and bend laws, sow the seeds of hatred and violence.

Ask any Republican about what they think about the principles of ethics, morals, and integrity, and here is what most of them would probably say: what in the world are they?

Right now America is at one of the lowest points in its history. Its people are scared, in a state of confusion and uncertainty. They look to the presidency and the Congress to give them hope and confidence that what is happening is just a small temporary downturn, and all this will pass.

However, they see nothing, they hear nothing coming from the leadership of this country that would dispel their fears, nothing that would give them hope!

What is happening to America and its people? Well, we might say that they are going down the wrong road, going in the wrong direction, not progressing, but regressing. And the principles of ethics, morality, honesty, and integrity have become practically meaningless.
