Cowardly Republicans, frozen in fear of Trump, who can crush their careers.

Republican senators, as well as the House members, live in constant fear that if they do not do what Trump commands, their time in office will end at the next election. They know full well that he has the power to send any Republican senator or House member home packing if they don’t obey his commands.

Trump is the master of revenge and retribution, which he uses to punish his many enemies by indicting them for all kinds of highly questionable actions. That’s what he does when he thinks about the things they might be plotting against him.

The minds of Republicans are frozen; those in Congress sit, look at each other, say nothing, and do nothing constructive. These pitiful ingrates know that millions of Americans will see their insurance premiums skyrocket, and millions of them will lose their insurance. SNAP benefits for low-income Americans will be lowered substantially or even disappear.

But will any of these terribly selfish senators and House members act to prevent this oncoming tragedy during the shutdown by doing something beneficial for their fellow Americans? They won’t; they will always bend to Trump’s commands and remain silent.

They could easily end the government shutdown by agreeing to meet with Democrats and work with them to see that important insurance and SNAP benefits are guaranteed for the American people. But they are refusing.

They just continue to watch as a great many Americans and government workers don’t get paychecks, while they know their annual salaries of $ 174,000 are guaranteed, and their mortgage and car payments will be made on time.

In the House, the Republicans haven’t been there for weeks; they stay home because their Speaker won’t open the doors for two reasons. First, he doesn’t want to open them during the shutdown, and more importantly for him, he doesn’t want to swear in new House member Adelita Grijalva because he is trying to avoid a key vote on the Epstein files.

This from MSNBC: “Donald Trump has been governing like an authoritarian: He promised to be a dictator on Day 1. He’s compared himself to America’s king and even the Pope. The goal of this second term appears to be to assert complete control over every aspect of the federal government.”

Trump has done a plethora of things that the Constitution declares are the responsibility of Congress, but the Republicans in Congress say and do absolutely nothing to even question him. He has, in fact, taken over 100% of their responsibilities, for which they are being paid, and they couldn’t care less. It’s kind of like being on a long, pleasant vacation.

I heard about a House member who was whispering to another member that he was fed up with Trump’s acting like a dictator, and then, after thinking about what he had said, he changed his mind and decided to shut up.

The cowardice is growing rapidly. Edward Luce of The Financial Times revealed “that he had talked with a great number of lawmakers, executives, retired military figures, and current and former Trump officials, and determined that the majority of them asked to remain anonymous because they feared attacks by Trump or his administration.”

That’s what is happening to the national media: the spreading of fear to try to force it to bend to Trump’s dictates. Steven Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel were fired for their Trump-busting comedic acts and making fun of Sir Trump, but they came back online and then gave him more of the same. Jon Stewart went to bat for his two friends and had a good time poking fun at good old El Trumpo.

Wow, it’s amazing how Trump’s attacks on our democracy have caused these various elites in the country to be so very afraid of him that they remain completely silent. Autocracy is now racing down the road, heading straight for America.

The Founders of America must be turning over in their graves, in total disbelief of what is happening to their Democracy and the Constitution. They had worked long and hard and fought to save their country from an authoritarian King George III, and now another autocrat had taken his place in today’s America.

If they could, they would tell today’s American people to rise in great anger and form a massive movement across America to fight like hell against Trump and his pathetic Republican lackeys.

The people must fight against the masked ICE agents who come into cities and pull immigrants, whether legal or not, out of their homes. They confront them on the streets and force them into ICE trucks to show them that they have no business in this country. They are not valid police and are no more than agents of the autocratic Trump.

Americans must fight back against those in this country who are committing treason when they try to destroy our Democracy and our Constitution. Yes, when you try to destroy the two rock-solid foundations of our country, it is most definitely treason. That was also tried during the Founders’ time. The two famous persons, among many who committed treason during the Great Civil War, were Benedict Arnold and General Robert E. Lee.

Are there any Americans who are now committing some kinds of treason-like acts against the Democracy and the Constitution? Well, if you were looking to identify them right now, the first place to look would be in the White House.

Trump is aging very quickly. He is mentally challenged and doing all kinds of things to hurt people instead of trying to help people like a president should do. And yet we keep hearing that he wonders if he can go to heaven. Well, he can keep wondering, but it won’t do him any good because part of the stated requirements to getting into Heaven is that you have to have honesty, integrity, and be a very moral person. And we know that if Trump is tested on those humanly questions, he will Strike Out!
