The second worst MAGA Trump calamity – more than equal to its Constitutional concussion

Remember TV’s “Truth or Consequences”? We ain’t got truth but we’re fogged in with endless smoke-screens, empty gestures, showboating and propaganda – poisons to the people.

Mesmerized by stunts, the endless MAGA insurrection conflates defying reality with cruel, domination disorders fed by lying, self-deception, rule-busting and invented enemies. Trump abhors obstacles to his cult’s vengeance politics, thus his addiction to criminals, grifters, destroyers, dumbos, and deniers.

While last week’s “single greatest MAGA threat” exposé captures how Trumpism fractures the Constitution, an array of subversions and perversions reinforce its dark agenda. Deviance spans both serious domestic downsides and unprecedented, overseas backlashes. Trump, trapped by his own repetition-foul-up complex, still speaks for an inflated hardcore base, despite a stunning failure to success ratio. One-third of America stands by the blundering opposite of a “strongman” awash with toddler slugfests, incompetence, racism,  contempt for women, name-calling, jaw-dropping pettiness, and unique blur of folly and politics. 

Confirmed surely is that backing Trump three times was no random sucker punch, nor came with any hope of life improvements. Au contraire, the peculiar MAGA masochism fits perfectly with Trump’s crushed self-esteem and electoral suicide, good only at one thing: how to screw-up and lie. A trainwreck for the ages. 

At heart, the MAGA mania is to replace the west’s vision of reality – honoring truth, rationality, expertise, tested legal and moral precedents. That glory is displaced by reflexive gut instinct (allergic to facts or intelligence) and bigotry (hating non-whites, immigrants and “foreign” enemies) – all tied up within a cult of hero worship. Quite a package, even for America. Trumpist predations play off black and white mindsets that pander to a distorted, self-fulfilling “us vs. them” tunnel vision. Tiny difference between rightwing, no wing or leftwing factory workers dwarfs anything between any hourly worker and any greedy billionaire.

Because America’s success– valuing diversity, immigration, justice, equal rights – is judged defective, even repulsive, first up is MAGA victim whining and ferocious blame games, then wide, erratic deconstruction. That spans physical entities (monuments irresponsibly demolished; sovereign states, ocean-going oil and fishing boats, “enemy” strongholds), plus battered cultural consensus (what the majority shares), plus “treasonous” fictions like protest, abortion, and secularism.

Thus the second great MAGA zuggernaut shreds any American consensus using rage against “outsiders” to drive its will to power, forever intimidating, controlling, and oppressing “less deserving,” inferior “woke” beings. Lying, victimhood and propaganda drive these battles of choice (just like Iran) to defend the new Trumpist (dis)order. Egotism propels a phony moral crusade, demanding unchecked sway to regain the “lost dominance” of its “white is right,” lost golden age. Yet wins, let alone gains, are invisible, even non-existent. When were small-fry MAGATs ever dominant?

Real losses far outweigh mock progress

Overwhelming proof that Trumpism is addicted to demolition, not creation (except for crony fat cats) is the unremitting wasteland that now litters the country and globe, measured by ordinary humankind. How many earthlings are better off this year? The pattern is undeniable: scattergun DOGE wipe-puts, private, scary police (ICE, deaths, DOJ indictments), the (amazingly) accelerating “hoax” of climate change (with Trump boosting dirty oil and coal burning, defying cleaner energy), economic mayhem (capricious trade wars, inflation, reversals), scorn for infrastructure disintegration, and profit-hungry, deregulated toxic pollution. When outlaw power-brokers, whether with huge fortunes, oversized egos or political sway, think unanalyzed “genius” schemes, as with AI data plants, amp up leverage, suicidal impacts result.

Readily avoidable wreckages inform the subversive Trumpist outreach to blatant disruptors (North Korea, Russia, Israel, autocrats, Proud Boys, J6 criminals), indentured rule busters (Hegseth, Bondi, Noem, RFK, Jr., Patel) or the convicted and jailed forking over of millions so the Pardoner-in-chief releases them. Recall Trump’s awe towards criminal Roy Cohn, phony “professional” wrestling, serial bankruptcies, and smashing heads of rally critics – capped with the one and only incriminating “election denial” Capitol invasion. Let’s never forget the rogue gallery of mass destruction: Rudy Guiliani, Mark Meadows, George Santos, Steve Bannon, Paul Manafort and Roger Stone. Know epic career destroyers by the low-life cohorts eager to do the dirty work. Latest lackeys: J.D. Vance, Bessent, Ludnick and Blanche.

Will Trump ever abandon the venomous Stephen Miller or the world’s weirdest sycophant, Natalie Harp? Trump the wannabe winner, now most infamous loser, adores outlaws and losers to act out his lurid controlled disorder/anti-establishment impulses. Then he can feel superior to dupes eventually thrown under the bus; nearly all corrupt their jobs. The specific, second order list of MAGA devastation to culture, media and politics:

1) Plausible, even half-assed attempts at truth fall by the wayside when everything is reduced to a trivial game, a sick joke, or whack-a-mole nullification of governance for all but a tiny few. The only thing “plausible” is deniability, then running for the exits (or getting indicted) when mortally exposed. 

2) Elections, campaigning, and primaries suffer massive MAGA distortions, perhaps never to be fully redeemed as trustworthy arbiters of who’ll run the show, frame honored priorities and whether majority rule regains its distant “golden age.” If campaign losers are not by statute forced to concede, then losses serve only as mild inconveniences, leveraging the mudslinging of perpetual campaigning. That guarantees bad faith, free-for-all food fights that end up smashing workable, legitimate governance. How does good government work when slandered elections don’t get out of the starting gate? 

3) When politics continues as anything-goes “entertainment,” little more than adjudicated shootouts, MAGA represents a never-ending insurgency (imagine variations of J6), eventually competing as destroyers with the long term consequences of the (first) belligerent, treasonous, autocratic Confederate rebellion. 

4) Indeed, MAGA surges reinforce the lost cause of the Old (and new) South, allied now with Appalachian, lower/western midwest, Far West and southwest fans. It’s a stunted rebirth of the historic anti-federalist, libertarian, racist plantation mentality and again defeated by New England, mid-Atlantic, upper midwest, parts of the west and the “Left Coast” (California, coastal Oregon, Washington State). “The more things change . . .” Well beyond a religious culture war, here’s a widening, calculated schism on race, sex, procreation, immigration, the environment, foreign relations, militarism, and what good government is. 

5) Trumpism solidifies the partnership between tech bullies and avaricious billionaires with MAGA bullies on science, religion, education, climate, women’s rights, gender freedom, gun control and whether hardwon knowledge, expertise and insight drive planning – or should violence, bribery, faith alone, gut instincts, and distortions about history (let alone what freedom means) rule the roost.

6) No one needs fret that MAGA voters are/were suckers oblivious to Trump’s character and nightmare agenda. They worship his brash criminality, rank misrule and mock attempts to “drive enemies from the gates.” Trumpers saw what they wanted in 2015, seized mass regression, now stick like glue to what was always a farce. They all hate the same made-up foes out to “steal their country” from “real Americans.” 

7) With cultish passivity (even perverse pleasure), MAGA embraces harsh economic results: high inflation and gas prices, less purchasing power, mediocre economic growth and the wide betrayal of conspicuous promises. They love the glossy, primitive, ritualistic shenanigans, even the overpriced gold imagery. They care nothing about devastating blows to overseas prestige; what real patriot truly cares about “foreigners”? For hardcore MAGA voters still blind to the preposterous B.S. “billionaire partnership,” abandon all hope.

8) Final disasters set forth how much America can take – and what unpopularity records Trump will break. Nothing yet impedes the astounding parade of malfeasance, by design and stupidity. The flaring MAGA meteor is burning out, providing its unAmerican “deliverables:” cherry-picked laws, weaponized justice, abused civil rights, false imprisonment/needless violence, incivility, vanity, arrogance, rigidity, blackmail, slush funds, browbeating, bad taste, bad jokes, and zero empathy for those struck by misfortune. Really, when run by bad faith, unqualified nincompoops, what government won’t fall just a tad short? The midterms are two months away.
