Hundreds of youth activists held a sit-in at the DNC headquarters yesterday demanding a climate change presidential debate be a top priority.

The Democrats aren’t going after the real issues. They’re looking for something else – the Democratic establishment.

Future candidates who are able follow the model provided by AOC, Pressley and others have the potential to transform the party to be more responsive to voters’ concerns from healthcare to climate change over what will likely be an ongoing process that takes years to complete.

The time is ripe for Democrats to step into this void of presidential and Congressional action and take charge.

We must confront those corporate media forces while vastly strengthening independent progressive media work of all kinds.

Will it nominate someone based on perceived electability, which is usually code for incremental policy ideas and a long political career, or a fresh-faced progressive reformer with big ideas?
