As 800,000 federal workers remain furloughed or working without pay in the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, we look at how the Trump administration has restarted a division of the Internal Revenue Service to help corporate lenders.

Federal employees have child care fees to add to long lists of expenses for households that live paycheck to paycheck.

Park experts are now warning that the damage may take years to undo.

The American Federation of Government Employees, or AFGE, says it’s illegal for federal workers to be forced to work without pay.

"We're afraid that we're going to start seeing significant damage to the natural resources in parks and potentially to historic and other cultural artifacts. We're concerned there'll be impacts to visitors' safety. It's really a nightmare scenario."
