26 U.S. states have passed laws designed to prevent towns, cities, and other local governments from crafting new “natural gas bans” or enforcing those laws.

Due to the energy needed in the natural gas liquefaction process, LNG terminals produce an enormous amount of greenhouse gas emissions.

The Eugene city council has broken off negotiations with a major gas utility that has resisted greenhouse gas reduction targets, and has instead opted to go the route of banning new gas hookups.
