Judge Kavanaugh repeatedly denied Blasey Ford’s allegations, denouncing her testimony with barely controlled rage and repeatedly choking up with tears in his eyes.

His was not a judicial temperament. It was the unhinged ranting of a right-wing ideologue who should not be allowed to serve as an associate justice of SCOTUS.

"The basic principles that underscore the Senate’s constitutional duty of advice and consent on federal judicial nominees require nothing less than a careful examination of the accusations and facts by the FBI."

I hope today’s performance convinces a critical mass of American women to do what must be done November 6 to give themselves a firm and clear voice in the Senate and in the rest of American government.

"We are writing to request that you immediately withdraw the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to be an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court or direct the FBI to re-open its background investigation and thoroughly examine the multiple allegations of sexual assault."

A confirmation hearing is a job interview, not a trial.

Many warn senators not to repeat the mistakes of the Anita Hill hearings of 1991 by an all-male, all-white Senate Judiciary Committee.

The New Yorker revealed Republican Senate aides learned of Deborah Ramirez’s allegations last week and responded by trying to quickly move Kavanaugh’s nomination ahead before the allegations became public.

"They are totally intent on getting Judge Kavanaugh onto the Supreme Court, come Hell or high water. You have to ask yourself, why?"

It comes against the backdrop of the #MeToo movement and 27 years after another dramatic showdown over sexual harassment allegations against another conservative Supreme Court nominee, Clarence Thomas.
