This fight is not over, not even close. In fact, this fight is escalating.
Today, hundreds of veterans from across the United States took a knee and begged for forgiveness for crimes committed toward indigenous people in the name of the U.S. military.
The whole pipeline fiasco was a more appropriate story for the 19th century instead of the 21st. Now, the timing is ideal for a new beginning: #HealNorthDakota
The companies insist that they will continue construction on the pipeline without rerouting it around Lake Oahe, despite being denied the legal right to do so.
"I heard the Army Corp of Engineers will not grant the easement and they will reroute. I would say that it is over."
Over 1,000 veterans plan to “deploy” and are calling on their fellow veterans to assemble as a “peaceful, unarmed militia at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.”
