The Republican’s effort to repeal and replace Obamacare has failed. Senator Bernie Sanders is expected to reveal his legislation for a universal health care, single-payer system.
Under a single payer system all Americans would receive health care coverage regardless of income, occupation, or health status.
Currently the United States is one of the only developed countries that does not have such a system in place.
Under a single-payer system like Bernie Sanders wants to introduce, co-payments, deductibles, and other cost-sharing measures would disappear. 95% of households would save money. The United States would save $592 billion with savings growing over time.
It is time that the federal government accept this and help pass legislation putting a single-payer system in place.
