Republicans ready to use violence to seize greater power and control

Politics is a dirty business here in America and the last thing we need in this country is a political war in which people are physically harmed.

This political party, as ironic as it may be, still refers to itself as the Party of Lincoln, a man of honesty, integrity, and courage. That may have been appropriate in past times but not anymore. This name should be changed as quickly as possible to The Party of Deception, or better yet, to The Party of Obstruction and Destruction, a perfect description.

This party has no agenda, no substantive objectives, it only wants to acquire greater power and control over this country and its people. And, it will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal, no matter if it has to resort to a great deal of violence.

Republican paranoia can be attributed to demographics, “statistical data relating to the population and particular groups, including race.” They keep hearing predictions that White people/Caucasians, will no longer be the majority of Americans by the year 2043, and African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Muslims, and other so-called minorities will constitute the new majority.

Republicans view these “other” people as intruders, like the “enemy among us.” This great fear clouds their minds to reality; that these other people are decent Americans, not dangerous to others. As these projections strike fear into their hearts more and more of them embrace white supremacy. Then the ranks of QAnon, the Proud Boys, and other such dangerous organizations increase.

We have a certain group of Americans who claim that they are of the Christian faith. They are among the staunchest Trump followers; some of them call themselves Evangelicals, i.e., those who bring the word of God to others. That just doesn’t make sense since they watch Trump break laws, demean others, and sow the seeds of hatred and divisiveness that is totally against the tenets of Christianity.

You can call yourself anything you wish but that doesn’t make it so. These pseudo-Evangelicals need to rethink who they really are – Trumpsters.

Republicans and their followers could never be referred to as builders or creators, they are regressive rather than progressive. They are obstructionists and destructionists; how many times have they tried to destroy Social Security and Medicare? And they are once again going to try to do away with these highly important social programs. What kind of human beings are they?

Since they don’t know how to conduct themselves as representatives of the American people and they have no intention of doing things that are beneficial for this society, they feel that the only way to take control is to use violence.

Here are some examples of those threats to harm others:

The New York Times recently reported, “From congressional offices to community meeting rooms, threats of violence are becoming commonplace among a significant segment of the Republican Party.”

“Ten months after rioters attacked the United States Capitol on Jan. 6, and after four years of a president who often spoke in violent terms about his adversaries, right-wing Republicans are talking more openly and frequently about the use of force as justifiable in opposition to those who dislodged him from power.”

Republican Representative Paul Gosar created a video that showed him attacking and killing Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and swinging at President Joe Biden with two swords,

“Remember that Zelensky is a thug,” said Madison Cawthorn, the Congressman from North Carolina at a town hall recently. He also said, “Remember that the Ukrainian government is incredibly corrupt and it is incredibly evil and it has been pushing woke ideologies.”

How dare that pathetic little punk insult this heroic leader and the courageous Ukrainian people who are fighting for their lives? This useless little man is paid $174,000 annually for doing nothing of substance.

Louisiana congressman Rep. Clay Higgins had his Facebook post removed after he threatened to shoot armed Black protesters “where they stand.”

Almost one-third of Republicans say they think violence may be necessary to solve the problems facing the United States, according to a new national survey by the nonprofit Public Religion Research Institute

Kevin McCarthy, House Minority Leader, hears these rogue/radical Republicans’ threats of violence and, instead of taking them to task for this kind of dangerous behavior, he does nothing, he lets them run rampant.

When is House Speaker Pelosi going to strongly censure them or expel them, when? She seems to have disappeared, not speaking out against these Republican ultra-radicals. Where are you, Nancy?

These Republican crazies are obsessed with hanging and gallows. Remember when the Jan. 6 insurrectionists were attacking the Capitol and they were chanting “Hang Pence?” Arizona state senator Wendy Rogers was at a white nationalist rally and said, “I’ve said we need to build more gallows.” The topic for discussion at that rally was “the execution of political enemies.”

What next? Are we going to see these Republicans and white supremacists make good on their threats and launch an agenda of violence across America, actually doing physical harm to those they consider to be enemies? Will it become very difficult if not impossible for Americans to go to the polls and feel safe as they cast their votes? We’ll just have to wait and see if they are serious about doing acts of violence or if they are just bluffing.

Politics is a dirty business here in America and the last thing we need in this country is a political war in which people are physically harmed. We can only hope that cooler heads prevail and those threats never materialize.
