Republicans can’t see the forest for the trees. Trump blocks their vision of the midterms.

Definition: “Can’t see the forest for the trees” means that the parts are distracting you from comprehending the whole. You can’t see the entirety as you are preoccupied with the details and overlook the bigger picture or the end goal.”

Yes, sometimes you can’t see the forest because of the trees. Republicans are so afraid of Trump that they have him on their minds all the time. Let’s call Trump the Trees. They are so connected to him that they have become his political slaves and don’t even realize that the midterm elections, let’s call them the Forest, may well cause their political demise. That is, if they don’t change their ways to a great degree, and soon.

There is a large part of the 77 million voters who elected this criminal that will go to the midterms in extreme anger, determined to send a huge segment of Trump’s representatives out of office. But these Republican bootlickers can’t seem to see that since their eyes are locked on Trump and his DOGE agents as they rip and tear apart many parts of this government. So, it’s as if they can’t see the midterms coming, they can’t see the forest for the trees.

They are deathly afraid of how quickly he brings retribution down on those who do not obey his dictates. They keep watching him in fear of what he might do next. But, unfortunately, they are forgetting who does the voting.

These Republicans are also like potted plants. We should make clear that a potted plant, in this context, is an inanimate object that sits there and does nothing. That’s what these agents of the people are doing – nothing. They are just as useless as potted plants.

They watch as he threatens retribution against law firms and universities, and they remain silent, thinking of who will be next on his hit list. They watch as he and his Ice agents plan to deport immigrants who are accused of all kinds of crimes without any proof.

They watch as he gets ready to reduce taxes on the rich while attempting to cut Medicaid benefits for low-income Americans, and they decide that he has to do what he thinks he must, and they can’t do anything about it. But, in truth, they have the power to do something about it if only they had the courage.

They could do a lot of good things for Americans, such as seeing that important programs and benefits for all Americans remain intact. However, they are too cowardly and don’t seem to realize that they are committing political suicide by doing the opposite of what they should if they want to be reelected again. Just plain dumb.

How about the fact that far too much of this national media is acting a lot like the Republicans? There are some such as the Atlantic magazine, the New York Times, and others who practice real journalism and are not afraid of Trump, that “tell it like it is.” But far too many of those pseudo-journalists have learned to hold their tongues and say nothing.

Here are a couple of examples of important issues in which this media should be going after Trump hammer and tong, but they’re not. First, there is the Russian war on Ukraine and Trump’s complete failure to try to convince his great friend, Putin, to come to the negotiating table. Trump keeps berating Zelensky and accusing him of starting the war but doesn’t turn on Putin when he keeps prolonging it. What does the media do or say in criticizing him? Not much!

Next, there is Netanyahu’s genocidal war that is slaughtering thousands upon thousands of helpless Gazans. This media is completely failing to push Trump to stop sending powerful weapons to Israel as a means to end this murderous war; They are doing little to nothing to stop it. It’s not that important to them as they pretend they can’t see the many helpless children being slaughtered.

Would Trump do something as stupid as to try to cancel the midterms to try to save his party from disaster? He probably would, because in his delusional state of ultimate power, he is ultra-confident that he can do anything. But while he feels like he is on the way to becoming the King of America, there are more and more Americans who are waiting for him to crash.

What we have here is a dilemma in which these Senate Republicans and those in the House are at a point of no return. They don’t know what they should do to hang onto their jobs and, especially, their salaries of $174,000.

Here are the two choices that they have. First, they can continue to set aside any honesty and integrity they may have had, and do what Trump tells them to do, believing that he will “fix” the midterms and that they will be reelected. That’s what a person who believes that the earth is square instead of round would do.

Next, if they have any sense left in their heads, they are going to think that Trump, being able to stop the midterms, is too much to believe, and they better not listen to him, because millions upon millions of terribly angry Americans will vote them out of office. So, one would think that their best bet would be to side with the people of America.

Wow, what a difficult choice this will be for those Republicans. What will they do? The big question is: will they continue to pledge allegiance to Trump, believing that he can and will save their jobs? Or will they wake up and do what is right for the American people and this country? Well, here is my prediction.

It will be Trump all the way.
