Jim Sleeper is a lecturer in political science at Yale University and a former columnist at the New York Daily News. Sleeper is also the author of The Closest of Strangers: Liberalism and the Politics of Race in New York.
"We have no choice but to take direct action to put our bodies on the line because petitions, sign-waving, and chanting—we tried that for the past 50 years and it hasn't worked, and we're out of time," said one arrested activist.
“Glaciers are the ambassadors of climate change. They make it very clear what is happening out there because they respond in a very sensitive way to warming temperatures.”
