At a town hall meeting in New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton said that she is in support of the Department of Justice investigating ExxonMobil. Her stance: There is a lot of evidence that ExxonMobil purposefully mislead the American public on climate change.

“For the sake of our nation’s common good—mostly likely, for the sake of saving human civilization from encroaching climate destruction—I think we must expose the hypothesis that Democrats are beyond reform to testing by purely rational experiment.”

Bernie Sanders, by any classic measure, is a lousy socialist who should jettison this inflammatory, injurious misnomer. Does embracing “socialism” -- an open-ended, domestic land mine -- not diminish his brilliant career, his growing national esteem and jaw-dropping campaign explosion? If winning the nomination is the goal, then why deliver a flaming torch to every scornful interviewer, partisan Republican, or Hillary defender so they can light up the night sky?

The time is ripe for Democrats to step into this void of presidential and Congressional action and take charge.

Not likely. Our super rich need the fog they create.

Future candidates who are able follow the model provided by AOC, Pressley and others have the potential to transform the party to be more responsive to voters’ concerns from healthcare to climate change over what will likely be an ongoing process that takes years to complete.

Change is slow, and at times seems hopeless. But change is inevitable. Do not wait for politicians to take the lead. We are the leaders.

Is such leadership representing progressives to the establishment or the other way around?
