Trump’s immigration law sparks backlash over mass detentions and loss of due process.

Progressives and civil rights groups sound the alarm over legislation that could allow President-elect Trump to strip nonprofits of their tax-exempt status without evidence, threatening free speech and democracy.

The actions of the city’s top law enforcement officials, said the group, “uphold and defend white supremacy, while demonizing people who were murdered for exercising their first amendment rights and speaking out against police violence.”

“We have to remove the loaded weapon that sits on the proverbial coffee table in the Oval Office.”

“Let this be a lesson to other states: If you criminalize protest, we will sue.”

We speak to Chase Strangio, staff attorney at the ACLU, which is challenging the Trump administration’s ban on service members who are transgender.

A new report by Amnesty International suggests immigration officials separated some 6,000 families between April and August, a far higher number of children and parents torn apart than previously thought.

“As a nonpartisan organization, the ACLU does not oppose Judge Kavanaugh based on predictions about how he would vote as a Justice. We oppose him in light of the credible allegations of sexual assault against him.”

People all over the nation are joining together to pressure Congress to uphold the Fourth Amendment.

Schneiderman announced that his office has joined the ACLU’s lawsuit against Trump’s executive order, which effectively bans many Muslims from entering the country.
