UN rapporteur challenges corporate giants on poverty wages and labor violations.

With Amazon notorious for having one of highest injury rates in the warehouse industry, workers are demanding accommodations system reform to ensure that workers don’t have to sacrifice their health to keep their jobs.

The "maiden voyage" was part of a 2023-2024 agreement Amazon finalized with Maersk to transport 20,000 40-foot equivalent containers using methanol through Maersk’s “ECO Delivery” ocean product offering.

The FTC said that for years Amazon "complicated the cancellation process for Prime subscribers who sought to end their membership."

Across all industries, while worker productivity surged 62 percent from 1979 to 2020, average hourly pay crawled up just 17 percent when adjusted for inflation.

“It’s very positive, but we continue to have very high levels of deforestation.”

800 million trees were cut down in six years due to cattle ranching, which accounts for 80 percent of current deforestation throughout the Amazon.

The report found that Amazon produced 709 million pounds of plastic packaging waste in 2021, up 18 percent from the 599 million pounds Oceana estimated it produced in 2020.

"We have to make Amazon pay all its workers a decent wage in dignified workplaces and for its environmental damage."

"This was an outrageous union-busting campaign by Amazon and we're demanding the company come to the table to bargain," said an attorney for the Amazon Labor Union.
