Both Ben Carson and Donald Trump's recent remarks against race shows the GOP as the party of exclusion. Maybe they should start being nicer to key demographic groups.

There is no sense in comparing Bernie Sanders, the "left-wing extremist" to Donald Trump, the "right-wing extremist." One is about grassroots, populist insurgency and the other is all about self-serving repugnancy. They will never compare.

The Republican rejection of reality — which these candidates will act out in debate after debate for months to come — inflicts grave costs on this country every day. It is hard to imagine the damage that will be done if one of these deceivers comes to power.

Did anyone believe a crass, greedy business tycoon, forever living on "other people's money," would not find a way to move from budget self-financing to accepting the big money modern elections require? Without tens or hundreds of millions eventually, Trump won't survive the big primaries against well-heeled, personally-insulted foes. And who expects Trump, a rich hypocrite (on so many other issues), to spend his cash when easy money is so available? Easier just to change the con artist's ploy about never being open to rank bribery.

Sometimes in the melodrama of ongoing history names tell the story. Both "trump" and "trumpery" fit to such a tee one wonders about the sense of humor cultivated by providence, fate or invisible deities.

Is Trump a real live fire-breathing fascist? The majority of citizens have no use for Trump and Trumpism because it isn't the solution to "make America great again."

If Donald Trump represents the bizarre side of this developing presidential race, then Senator Bernie Sanders represents the serious, rational side. But no matter what the turnout, Americans yearn for fresh blood, new thinking and new ideas.

Donald Trump is the Republican party's worst nightmare. But they will have to sit back and watch as Trump takes over America’s political stage all while capturing a large share of the GOP base constituency.
