Conflicting claims emerge after the Global Sumud Flotilla says a drone struck its “Family Boat” in Tunisia; authorities dispute the attack while the aid mission to break the Gaza siege vows to continue.

With activists from 10 countries aboard, including Greta Thunberg and a member of the European Parliament, Israel’s armed interception of the Madleen is being condemned as piracy and a violation of international law.

A crowd of supporters gathered at the port with Palestinian flags to encourage the 12-person crew. The mission is sponsored by the Freedom Flotilla organization.

Judge Laws said at the conclusion of the case on Feb. 2 at Westminster magistrates court "that the crown had failed to present enough evidence to prove their case."

"The Swedish state fails to meet the constitutional requirement to promote sustainable development leading to a good environment for present and future generations," said the plaintiffs.

"Are we fighting to save ourselves and our living planet or are we fighting to maintain business as usual? Our leaders say we can have both, but the harsh truth is that is not possible."

Thunberg sat down in her Stockholm kitchen to talk about what she expects—and hopes—will come from the global event.

“The climate crisis is not going away. It’s only escalating, and it’s only growing more intense by the hour.”
