Socialism is a word a lot of citizens fear, but Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, military and other social programs administered by the U.S. government are all socialistic aid the U.S. uses.

Congress recently undermined Social Security benefits with an elimination of a provision that will weaken the program. So much for progressives defending Social Security from the corporatist Congressional Democrats and Republicans who seek to destroy it.

Linda Weston pled guilty on Wednesday for stealing over $200,000 in Social Security benefits from disabled people. She and her co-conspirators held disabled adults and their children captive for roughly a decade.

"Saving Social Security for future generations is far more popular than any of them ever will be." So remember that this is the best financial decision and vote accordingly.

The elderly have become the victims of financial exploitation and neglect. Is America going through the greatest retirement crisis in the history of the world?

U.S. senior citizens who paid into Social Security their whole lives deserve to reap the benefits from it upon retirement. If the wealthy paid their fair share in taxes this would not even be an issue to discuss.

If we can’t make the bosses pay more to their employees, the least we can do is make the them pay more into those workers’ Social Security fund. How to accomplish that? Just raise just the employer share of the payroll tax.

With Republicans in control in Congress, Social Security and Medicare have already taken unfair cuts. We need a mass movement to come together and demand “Medicare for all” and “Real Social Security people can live on,” especially before 2016 elections.

Social Security is on the chopping block in Congress again with the idea of “saving” the program. Because not too many people are familiar with the benefits and features of Social Security, few people are fighting for it.
