Fossil fuel corporations will no longer be allowed to explore oil and gas drilling endeavors in the Atlantic after Obama made the decision to ban drilling completely in the area.

“President Obama has taken a giant step for our oceans, for coastal economies and for mitigating climate change. This is a victory for people over politics and shows the importance of old-fashioned grass-roots organising” said Jacqueline Savitz, vice president of environmental group Oceana.
The Pentagon, fossil fuel industry and some coastal communities are not happy with the move, but environmental activist applauds the decision.
