Despite the tariff scourge (more inflation, less growth), immigration abuse (overt crimes, fewer workers), DOGE (erratic savings, epic cruelty), bad tax cuts (welfare for fat cats, crumbs for small fry), endless Epstein mess (cover-up maxes impact), vendettas overseas (appalling allies, undermining prestige, tourism and trade), and vile vaccine hocus pocus (less safety, less science, more fatalities), serial, contradictory failures show how predators can still win for losing.
It’s neither chance, nor fate that explains why this administration has no peer in its compulsive addiction to getting things wrong, then gleefully doubling down on planned disasters. Maximum surface disruption is the MAGA way to fame and fortune, advancing graft, greed and corruption profits from the demolition derby. That’s why for months I simplify all debate with this unanswered question: what has MAGA Trump done to improve health and living conditions for the bottom 90% – whatever the party, whether men, women or children, citizens or newcomers, old, young or in-between? So far, only crickets.
Such fake promises vanish into the sunset, replaced by death, disease and abuse loops that afflict multitudes and depress life choices. The majority “can’t win for losing.” Serial assaults abound: ICE invasions (and fatalities), vaccine mayhem, slashed health care, therapy, housing and nutrition programs, and stunning price surges that stop millions from buying essential drugs. So much for the unspeakable hypocrisy of “populist” economic campaign deceit that instead panders to crony corporate titans, rich people, anti-abortion fundamentalists, gun owners, and anti-immigrant bigots. Thus, MAGA poll slumps no defender can explain away with bluster, over-the-top lying and disinformation – all captured by the bad faith and bad designs that fuel the WH East Wing “reconstruction” disaster. We have an ongoing class-driven war testing whether the voter backlash of the many defeats the disruptive payola purveyors to the few. What still unifies Trump donors, gang members and hardcore gullible remains an unwavering hatred of any status quo that impedes their self-entitled “freedom” to push the envelope, test all boundaries and rashly destroy obstacles.
Iran: the perfect finale for MAGA insolence
Iran is the latest example (and greatest boondoggle) of what now seems concocted, inevitable over-reach, littered with dismal planning and zero regard for intel. Hence the wretched if transparent cover-up that tries to hide a double defeat: failure on the battlefield (hardly “obliterating” Iranian nukes) compounded by losing the peace – sabotaging resolution, world trade, world prosperity. What other blundering buffoons ever lost a war (of choice), then willfully lost the peace via threats, phony bluffs and tin-ear, belligerent BS? Both by design (bait and switch) and suckered stupidity (thanks to Netanyahu hawks), the undeniable outcome contradicts every declared goal. Amidst this fog of war folly, war-profiteers surface: fossil fuel suppliers, war ships/ vehicle makers, drone/missile manufacturers, and logistics software producers – the entire Pentagon war colossus whose costly depletions must be replaced. Candidate Trump demanded a billion in Big Energy donations, now repaid many times over. Great for crony capitalism, bad for civilians and inflation-taxed consumers.
With unerring frequency, what seem like high-risk, indefensible failures pay off the crony constituency that stands by MAGA Trump, thus with Orwellian logic super-expensive fiascos become selective victories. However irrational or taxing for the majority, look how crude “tickle down” flows work, totaling billions. The current tension on which MAGA Trump pivots balances between costly payoffs (to Trump’s insider gang, making millions with oil futures plays) vs. the squandering of popular support by inexhaustible betrayals and machinations. When has the top MAGA lame duck cared a whit about his hijacked party, Congress or anything beyond self-interest? Huff Post details more of his corrupt underlying agenda, Trump Yet Again Promotes His Personal Business On Taxpayers’ Dime, subtitled, He flew Marine One to a LIV golf tournament in Virginia, a week after flying Air Force One to a PGA tournament in Florida, which followed an Air Force One trip to hawk his crypto coins. Crime clearly still pays – and what con man “genius” ever hit a bigger jackpot, wielding power, chatting up real kings and pocketing fortunes, the ultimate, entrepreneurial, pretend president.
Corruption thrives but so does global exposure
What other explanation is there that so fully explains the astonishing persistence of destructive, brand-tainting MAGA face plants? Talk about rash tradeoffs, even unintended consequences. There are either real money/power levers or perceived benefits to fellow predators, evident in backing Israeli genocide, spouting pernicious NATO attacks or vetoing needed arms while blaming Ukraine, all paying homage to the Putin Pulverization Party (even condoning pro-Iran, military Russian intervention). Okay, the weird tariff obsession is the least defensible loser, still no great shakes for domestic producers; that moronic policy answers only to Trump’s perverse ego and career prejudices. Trump hasn’t a clue how to secure all those promised “good” jobs. This WH denies the inflation and works around even a scathing SC tariff decision (indeed for show attacking his picks). Ditto, the unscientific, cruel war against modern vaccine miracles (and other drugs) has not only boomeranged, producing more illness and children’s mortality (plus infants getting far less protection, thanks to RFK, Jr.). These are real-world death trips, propaganda bones tossed to MAGA’s science-denying superstitions, proving even powerful Big Pharma can’t match fossil fuel leverage.
How much more can humane, fact-based voters take as MAGA Trump boasts never-ending blunders? The MAGA DOGE demolition, by rock-solid USAID estimates, will kill millions of the poorest overseas, saving less than a tenth of what the unwarranted Iranian calamity costs. How to evaluate the pain and suffering from the anti-abortion blitz (another bone for true believers) with punitive and/or unenforceable restrictions, allowing mothers to die from medical withholds? Actual numbers are unknowable because WH defunding disappears life and death statistics. By best reports, directly-related deaths from willful negligence on climate change could reach pandemic proportions. That this WH ferociously supports burning fossil fuel, despite a surging overseas clean energy push, is an immoral scandal unmatched in our history. That no MAGA cabinet secretary is either honest or competent, and most are corrupt, only maximizes what is now causing irreparable damage. The wannabe king can’t even demolish a WH wing without rash impropriety, only to be ambushed by the vast reconstruction complexity, legislatively, legally and politically. Nor, despite sputtering rage, can this WH figure out how to get away with invading Canada or Greenland or California.
Then there are the myriad ploys to sabotage the next election. Consider the boomerang in mistimed, heavy-handed MAGA gerrymandering, because only cheating can offset plunging popularity. Not only will lots of suspect voting shenanigans boomerang (offending minority purple-state voters), many anticipate a severe backlash elsewhere that will bury the infamy. The oft-pathetic Democratic Party has been revitalized, especially with huge, often small donations and numerous, new progressive candidates everywhere. So we have marginal, illegal ploys to steal seats that could well implode, the delightful unintended consequence.
Finally, the Big, Bad tax bill continues to shift wealth from the bottom 80% to the top 1% – rewarding those untouched by inflation and dumb tariffs, finding ways around the rules. Since inflation from tariffs, bad wars and worse economic planning represent the meanest, most unjust, indiscriminate taxation of the poor, how many voters rush to the polls to declare their buying power has fallen off a cliff vs. the last Biden years when inflation was falling and job growth outstripped any 2025 employment statistic. The wealth transfer since Reagan from the bottom 80% to the top 1% (upwards of $79 trillion per the Hartmann piece above) exposes the most hidden class scandal in our history – driving so much universal grievance. That imbalance finally is beginning to matter, torpedoing swaths of rightwing nonsense, wedge politics, propaganda and graft. MAGA Trump since the ‘80s has simply accelerated the theft of middle and working class savings by a super-rich elite that knows how to win red and purple state elections. Until this year, until this mid-term, until reality rears its head.
P.S. Speaking of another mixed bag/predatory calamity, Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, reported first-quarter 2026 revenue of just $871,200 against a massive net loss of $405.9 million. Its stock, once over 80, is now less than nine dollars, a loss of 90% for the least savvy “investors.” The “business” still claims to own billions in crypto currency, though evidence is sparse.
