In the past, platforms that are adopted during campaign seasons are quickly forgotten after the election has passed, but hopefully Sanders can change that.

The pragmatist in her must know that the only way her ideas will make it in real life is if the public is organized and mobilized behind them.

The progressive vision for 2020 is focused on the needs of average working people, on the strength of society rather than on winner-take-all individualism, on the cooperative efforts of underpaid people who have been forced out of the middle class.

The next step is to work to ensure that Donald Trump is routed in 2016, and to use the Democratic platform as the minimum standard that all Democratic candidates must endorse.

Of course, party platforms are not actual laws and programs, but statements of principles and intent.

Bernie, we thank you for your courage, your inspiration, your tireless dedication, and your vision. And we will continue the fight.

It may be of some serious interest to both voters and opposing companies that the DNC doesn’t seem to hold steadfast to its values when it comes to asking for, and accepting, money.
