Politicians and media moguls have long understood that fear and hate sell better than hope and compassion, no matter how much we might wish it otherwise.

With the approach of crucial congressional and state elections, no one should be surprised that domestic terrorism has emerged from the ranks of President Donald Trump's hyper-partisan supporters. In fact, given Trump’s pattern of incitement, many have warned that some of his followers would resort to violence.

The charges against members of the Rise Above Movement come weeks after four other members or associates of the group were indicted on riot charges in Virginia.

But the fact is that the criminal system supported by the act isn’t stopping intimate partner violence.

“Republicans’ decision to include only a short-term VAWA re-authorization in the must-pass minibus spending bill is nothing short of an abdication of our responsibilities to women in our country."

But what is this ‘invisible’ and ‘utterly invisible’ violence that is inflicted on us mercilessly, and has a profoundly damaging impact, from the day we are born?

Here’s something to grouse about.

Despair seems an apt response to events one cannot reconcile, of circumstances of which one cannot gain perspective nor control.
