Detroit Teachers Use Twitter To Raise Awareness of the Conditions of Their Schools

From mold to rodents, the conditions of Detroit’s school system are so bad that the teachers are threatening to go on strike. Over the past two weeks many of the teachers have participated in a pre-strike called a “sick out” where the majority of teachers call in sick, forcing the school to close.

Now Detroit public school teachers have taken to Twitter to document the horrendous conditions of their schools and others have joined their cause to spread the word:
