Hamlet (ironically), “There is nothing good or bad but thinking makes it so.”

Behold the Liar’s crowning scam,
That dwarfs his gushing flim and flam;
What folly contorts fraud to truth –
And exiles reason as uncouth?

Exposed in full the MAGA dumb show –
Unreal Trump “thinking” makes it so.
How else does this chronic sleazeball
Evoke a dim Neanderthal?

Says Trump, “because I never lie,
All secrets I declassified.
How can there be hocus pocus
When all I did was mental focus?

“No patriot takes papers hence
That impact national defense.
Everyone knows I can acquit
Even by thinking about it.

That’s why this POTUS any time
Avoids committing any crime,
Obscuring all evil intent
Potential charges I circumvent.

To bulk up real ‘alternate facts’
I just think – and they become acts.
Who dares demand hard evidence –
When spite awards me precedence?

Believe me, what I took was mine,
My perfect brain knows well this line.
Nasty foes who doubt my reason
Commit chargeable high treason.

When reset in the presidency,
Saluted as ‘your excellency,’
I shall defang my enemies
And bring them down to painful knees.

Do you not hear Divine Injunctions –
To restore my entitled functions?
In a flash we’ll get great again,
Just anoint me King Charlemagne.

For over a decade, Robert S. Becker's independent, rebel-rousing essays on politics and culture analyze overall trends, history, implications, messaging and frameworks. He has been published widely, aside from Nation of Change and RSN, with extensive credits from OpEdNews (as senior editor), Alternet, Salon, Truthdig, Smirking Chimp, Dandelion Salad, Beyond Chron, and the SF Chronicle. Educated at Rutgers College, N.J. (B.A. English) and U.C. Berkeley (Ph.D. English), Becker left university teaching (Northwestern, then U. Chicago) for business, founding SOTA Industries, a top American high end audio company he ran from '80 to '92. From '92-02, he was an anti-gravel mining activist while doing marketing, business and writing consulting. Since then, he seeks out insight, even wit in the shadows, without ideology or righteousness across the current mayhem of American politics.
