An American president must never again be allowed to fully manage a response to any pandemic. That responsibility must be assigned to scientists and other medical experts.

As the US loses its position of global supremacy, we have an opportunity to fundamentally reshape what we as a nation represent.

Islamophobic conservatives express outrage that Western progressives support Muslim rights that the conservatives want to curb. But progressives also support Sikhs, Haredi Jews and others who want to be different, as long as their being different doesn’t harm anyone.

Pence looks more like the walking, even staggering dead, having now neutralized his one and only courageous Senate action.

A broad coalition to defeat Donald Trump and the fascistic MAGA movement is exactly what we need. Making Josh Shapiro the nominee for vice president is exactly what we don’t need.

The time has come for a coalition, and that means being open, and honest, and doing the best for the country. So do it.

A tsunami of criminal indictments, buoyed by massive civil penalties – who cares then if Trump ends up a jailbird?

We need less advertising (or “public relations” in some versions), and a helluva lot more journalism these days.

The World Food Program (WFP) warns that, “millions of civilians living in conflict-scarred nations, including many women and children, face being pushed to the brink of starvation, with the spectra of famine a very real and dangerous possibility.”

Trump doesn’t want any resistance. He wants total control.
