Voters in Pennsylvania have turned against fracking after over a decade of experience with shale drilling in the region.

For people living in these areas, that means noise, pollution and other stressors that can harm physical and mental health.

In response to Trump’s claims Biden would ban fracking, the Democratic presidential nominee assured a crowd in Pennsylvania that he will not do away with the practice.

“It’s time the state put our lives first, not the interests of the oil and gas industry.”

The advocacy groups opposed to the plan say that expanding fracking in the region over the next decades will not only add fuel to the planetary climate crisis, but will also adversely impact local organic agriculture and endangered species.

With the current crisis and Exxon and the American Petroleum Institute apparently working against the shale industry, it probably won't be a long wait until shale is just a bunch of “ghosts or zombies.”

Chevron has already admitted that it might cut spending in response to the sudden Saudi-Russia price war. Exxon too might soon have to slam on the brakes.
