Progressive ballot initiatives passed handily across the country, even in so-called red states.

Rather than attacking AOC and other progressives as they've been doing for a week now, it’s about time the centrists in the Democratic Party stop talking and start listening to them.

With enormous grassroots outreach that only they could credibly accomplish, progressive activists were a crucial part of the de facto united front to defeat Trump.

Progressives can put these principles in practice, and we could retain the better parts of both capitalism and socialism, leading to a happy society.

These voices and ideas will not be able to change the poor strategy of the national Democratic Party on their own.

The last thing we need are fresh examples of powerful politicians opting for self-serving actions over democratic principles.

It will no doubt feel to many on the left that a strategy that’s less reliant on national leadership is too slow and requires more work on the part of voters to not only become activists, but to participate in local elections and make an effort to look at the records and policy proposals of down ballot candidates in national ones.
