Clearing the Trump Trainwreck!

When reality goes from bad to worse/ What’s sane for me is satiric verse.

Egads, take heed, all keen to learn
How Trump’s scurrilous “premises” burn,
Aflame, feeding his own bonfires;
Uproar turns swamps into quagmires.

Trump exiles “losers” — no remorse,
Say, ex-wives “fired” with divorce;
He strikes at will —  like any riffraff —
By ambushing his own, slavish staff!

What witless ingrate so impugns,
His infamous yet servile goons?
What dimwit king pushes loyalty —
Then slurs his self-made royalty?

A time-bomb ticks for ousting Mueller —
Trump’s alarmed what findings augur.
His bankrupt ploy, to whine and growl,
With threats galore to disembowel.

Will not this user’s unhinged fuse
Repel sane picks who dread abuse?
Can pardons shield all his cronies,
Or power plays save all his phonies?

Collusion oozes more than crime —
The iceberg tip of willful slime.
No genius to unearth the sleaze —
Some day tagged the “Trump disease.”

Could the Donald, seething umbrage
Quit to end this non-stop carnage?
“No” says alt-right, oft-wrong Bannon
“Snarl more” roars this loosest cannon.

Good news: the majority won’t budge
Refusing to normalize sludge:
The finale for endless shams —
Exposure of all Trump flimflams.

Just firing this pathetic martyr
Hardly renews our national charter.
Resistance must slay Trumpism dead,
Never again to rear its ugly head.

For over a decade, Robert S. Becker's independent, rebel-rousing essays on politics and culture analyze overall trends, history, implications, messaging and frameworks. He has been published widely, aside from Nation of Change and RSN, with extensive credits from OpEdNews (as senior editor), Alternet, Salon, Truthdig, Smirking Chimp, Dandelion Salad, Beyond Chron, and the SF Chronicle. Educated at Rutgers College, N.J. (B.A. English) and U.C. Berkeley (Ph.D. English), Becker left university teaching (Northwestern, then U. Chicago) for business, founding SOTA Industries, a top American high end audio company he ran from '80 to '92. From '92-02, he was an anti-gravel mining activist while doing marketing, business and writing consulting. Since then, he seeks out insight, even wit in the shadows, without ideology or righteousness across the current mayhem of American politics.
