“What they did to Trooper Sceviour is shameful.”

The demonization of teachers and the idea that making a profit is more important than ensuring that all citizens have the right to a public education offers just one more example of how morally bankrupt the philosophy of neo-liberalism has become.

From "Open Carry" rallies to Stand for Love, the Republican Convention (and all the demonstrations that go with it) is in full swing.

There will be rebels. They will live in the shadows. The state will have little tolerance of them. They will be our hope.

Here’s something to grouse about.

This deception will exist as long as we “stay in our place.” Once we call out power for what it is, once we resist, the chimera will vanish. The iron fist of history’s most sophisticated security and surveillance apparatus will assert itself with a terrifying fury.

We commend Gov. Cuomo and Commissioner Seggos’ decision to stop this pipeline from moving forward.

With tens of thousands of sexual assaults occurring annually in the military, the country’s national security becomes under threat when troops can no longer trust their own colleagues.

It is time to design an economic system that allows for the required sharing of food, water, land and other natural resources, as well as knowledge and skills.
